I’ve posted about grief before … how grief/loss comes in many different forms.
It can be the loss of a loved one through death, drug addiction, or mental illness. But grief can also be the loss of a marriage/relationship, a physical ability, a foreclosed home, a pet. It can even be the loss of self-worth from abuse.
Often the confusion that comes out of grief is we don’t know what to believe anymore. As our own faith is questioned, we naturally question our God. How can a loving God allow this to happen? This is where you step back and ask yourself: What do I know for sure about God?
A dear older friend, who unexpectedly lost her 21-year-old child, best said it this way, “All I know is God makes no mistakes. I had to trust that He’s already gone before me, so how can I turn my loss into a blessing for others while I’m still here?” … 50 years later, this friend is still sharing her “gift of HOPE” –Healing Once Pain Ends– to others.
What do we know for sure?
God makes no mistakes, and out of our loss (our pain) comes the gift of a deeper faith in God.
We live in a fallen world, and God never promised a pain-free life, but He did promise that you would never have to face it alone. God makes no mistakes. Trust His plan in your journey today.
