I’m tired…
This sucks…
I’ve been struggling forever…
My finger hurts…this food tastes awful…I hate my hair…
How much longer do I have to go through this, God?
Why do good things always happen to them and not me?
Complaining is draining isn’t it? Negative moaning and groaning only keeps you stuck in your pit of despair. It wears on a person’s soul…it steals your joy ( <–exactly what the enemy wants)
I call it the “I-me-my” syndrome. We get so me-focused, that we lose sight of God-focus. We’re so busy complaining about what we don’t have, that we fail to thank God for what we do have –or what He’s about to do in our lives.
Next time you’re tempted to complain, turn to Job chapters 40-42. God basically says, “Do you really want to argue with Me, Job?…Do you have all the answers?” …then God continues until Job finally says, “Okay, I know You Got This, God…I was complaining about things I knew nothing about…I take back everything I said.” ( <–Hello!)
Don’t be “that” person. Challenge yourself: Can you go a full 24hours without complaining? It’s time to speak victory over every area of your life! Step back and watch how things change!
.
“Do everything without complaining and arguing…”
