When life’s storms hit, change is forced upon us whether we like it or not.
I’ve certainly learned in my own journey, the more I resist, the more it persists. If I’m not willing to change things on my part, the change becomes even harder and usually takes much longer.
How many times I cried out, “Make it stop, God! Can you just change all this? I’ve had enough!”
As we know, God determines when we’ve had enough, but we can choose whether we resist or persist.
So next time, instead of asking God to change the things going on around you, maybe you say it this way: “God, change me, so that I can handle the storm You’re walking me through.”
Sometimes God allows storms to make us more dependent on Him. This is when I know He’s changing me … and that makes all the difference in the world.
