God, can you just make the waves of life stop while I clear the salt water from my eyes? You know…let me take a breath before another wave comes.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we had such control? But life just doesn’t work that way. We’re not God; never have been, never will be. He is the Maker of heaven and earth –which includes the waves of the sea. And just like those waves, the ebbs and flows of life never stop.
So, we’re given a choice. Go with God’s flow and let the waves roll, or stand stubbornly still [in your own free will] getting pounded by the ocean. If you’ll just let go, surrender to the seas, do you realize the waters will naturally move you where you need to be. The more you resist the surf, the harder the waves hit. You can stand in one place, pride determined not to move, but eventually a bigger wave comes and trust me…you’ll move!
God knows best. It’s up to you to trust Him. He’s never given you reason not to. It’s a choice that YOU have to make. The waves of life will always come. Each wave that hits makes you stronger, more equipped to endure. He never promised a life of ease, but who’s to say the ocean can’t be your river. Let the waves of life carry you through. Carry you to the place God has planned for you.
No matter what happens, with God as your lifeline, you’re going to be all right. Just let go and let God flow. Trust His will in your life ~Amen
