Pruning does NOT feel good.

I know we’re supposed to trust God in all things, but the pruning season isn’t an easy one to embrace. No one likes the pain of a cut here and there, much less a major wound. And it’s always those unexpected cuts that hurt the most! You know…the ones that bring you to your knees.

As much as I don’t like it, I understand God’s pruning process. For if never pruned, we’d be a mess of overgrown dead branches and tangled-up weeds. Our beautiful growth would be stunted; life choked-out by our own free will. With each cut of my Master’s hand, I can trust it’s all part of His magnificent plan.

As painful as pruning can be, in the end He always knows what’s best for me. With each cut I know I will heal. I know I will grow stronger than I was before. God’s pruning is God’s caring for you, my friend. Let what no longer serves you fall to the ground. The dead branches and tangled weeds must go. I know you feel there’s nothing left, but He who began a good work in you is shaping you into absolute perfection. Stand tall and proud after your pruning season! You are His beautiful creation ~Amen!
